Ant TC 1 – Press Shots

March 4, 2011 § Leave a comment

A few months ago I was approached by a drum and bass DJ and producer who goes by the name of Ant TC 1, asking if I would be interested in taking some press shots for him. He is Leeds based and organises a hugely successful night called Momentum, at the Wire club, on the third Friday of every month, as well as running his own record label, Dispatch Records.  I am pleased to say that great things are happening for him, especially with the release of his latest album, so if you haven’t checked it yet then you are definitely missing out!

We decided to go for quite an organic shoot, using only natural lighting and ended up in this  underpass as I really liked the silhouette effect we got teamed with the arc of lights on the wall. We wanted to steer clear of the stereotypical ‘graffiti’ DJ shoot, however I still wanted to include a slightly urban tone. I think the black and white works well and the lighting is quite striking and brings out an atmosphere in the series.
Overall we were both happy with how they came out and I was thrilled to find out that one of the images was featured in ATM magazine alongside an article about Ant and his label (see above).
Please do check out his music if you are not already familiar, a really talented producer and DJ not to mention a great guy who is bringing some of the best artists to the Leeds music scene.

Find out more at his soundcloud or on his agency site.
