A Vogue Retrospective

January 16, 2012 § Leave a comment

I had to share this incredible editorial from the January issue of Vogue, which takes a reflective journey back through editorials shot across the globe over decades past. The series encompasses fashion stories photographed in exotic locations from India to Hawaii, Egypt to Nepal, and in my opinion, features some of the most stunning and captivating images to have ever graced the magazine’s pages.

The editorial displays a wonderful fusion between nature and fashion, beauty and culture, bringing to light instances where the powers that be of Vogue have taken fashion beyond the often superficial, glossy pages of fashion magazines. For these fortunate and talented photographers, models and creative teams, this means being transported to the ends of the earth to witness and immerse oneself in cultural diversity – evoking their experiences through compelling images, encompassing the viewer throughout their journey.

It is reader experiences such as these that reinstate over and over that Vogue is the pinnacle of the fashion world for me –  it is unrivalled in the affecting, beautiful and powerful imagery that it presents me with month after month, year after year.

Vogue, I adore you.
