Chavín (pronounced sha-veen) is luxury jewellery with a difference. It’s unique selling point? A fusion between ethics and aesthetics for the modern, powerful woman.

.
I am now a very proud owner of one of the GORGEOUS double headed jaguar rings. 18 carat Rose Gold Vermeil with Rubies – I am in love.

The company’s origins lie in Peru, where the raw materials are sourced and the culture inspires the bohemian style of the jewellery. Chavín has partnered with the charity SOS Children to support its family strengthening programme in the community centre “Luz y Vida” in Lima, Peru. Chavín honours the hard work of the employees that extract their materials and craft their pieces by ensuring that each item sold benefits these communities, enabling the brand to participate in an active way to improve the quality of life for these people.

Below is a selection of pages from the lookbook for their brand new collection.

The debut collection ‘Antiquity’ was designed by one of the UK’s most talented fine jewellers, Ana De Costa, and perfectly captures the ethos of the brand. Using symbols from the rich, vibrant civilization, De Costa transforms their iconography into feminine, contemporary pieces. A recurring feature throughout the collection is the Chavín deity, a jaguar, which symbolises strength – an important characteristic that defines the brand’s appeal to the independent woman.

It is the combination of mythology and iconography of Peruvian culture punctuated with splashes of colour from the Andes and the insight into real life success stories of women who have been helped by SOS Children that truly incorporates both the visual and ethical message that drives the brand and the change they attempt to bring to the lives of these women and families in Peru.

Head over to their website where the full collection will be coming soon – with such a diverse range you are bound to find many pieces that jump straight to the top of your wish list.

Please show your support for this great brand and like them on Facebook and/or follow on Twitter. Thank you!
